Our Grounds
Designed by Humphry Repton between 1809 - 1813 and believed to be one of the inspirations for the grounds at Sotherton Court in Jane Austen's Novel, Mansfield Park. Jane visited Stoneleigh Abbey with her cousin Reverend Thomas Leigh in 1806, when he inherited the Stoneleigh Abbey Estate. With the diversion of the River Avon through the grounds, creating a lake effect, makes our grounds the perfect backdrop for filming.
